Our commitment
- Every AI call starts by saying it’s an AI assistant and that the call may be recorded.
- Our AI never claims to be human, and answers honestly if asked.
- Anyone who wants a person can get one: the AI takes a message and hands off.
- We don’t use AI voices to cold-call anyone.
On our own phone lines
Calls to AJ Service Systems’s business line ((916) 244-2958) that we can’t answer, and all calls to our demo line, are answered by an AI voice assistant built on Retell AI. These calls are recorded and transcribed, and a summary is saved to our CRM (GoHighLevel) so we can follow up. Demo calls may also be reviewed to improve our scripts.
In systems we build for clients
Every AI receptionist we build for a contractor follows the same rules, and each client approves the script before go-live:
- It discloses that it’s an AI assistant and that the call may be recorded, at the start of every call.
- It does not quote prices, promise start dates, or make commitments on the business’s behalf.
- It does not take payment card numbers, Social Security numbers or other sensitive information by phone.
- It flags emergencies (active leaks, no heat or cooling, safety concerns) and alerts a person right away, and tells callers to dial 911 for danger.
- It transfers or takes a message whenever a caller asks for a person.
Outbound calls and texts
Our systems contact people who reached out first: callers, form submitters and existing customers. AI-voice calls and automated texts are sent only to people who have given the consent the law and phone carriers require, and every text includes opt-out instructions. Calls and texts respect quiet hours and opt-out requests. We do not buy lead lists for AI calling or texting.
Recordings and data
Recordings, transcripts and summaries are stored with our providers (Retell AI and GoHighLevel) and are available to the business you called and to our team for support. We don’t sell recordings, and we use them only to run, review and improve the service. See our Privacy Policy for retention periods and your rights.
Accuracy and limits
AI assistants can mishear or make mistakes. That’s why we limit what ours can say, review client call transcripts every week, and send every booking and message to a person. Information from an AI assistant is not a binding quote, contract or professional advice.
Rules we follow
- California bot disclosure law (Business & Professions Code § 17940 and following): bots that talk with Californians to encourage a sale must say they’re bots.
- California call-recording law (Penal Code §§ 632 and 632.7): everyone on a call must be told it’s being recorded.
- The Telephone Consumer Protection Act and the FCC’s 2024 ruling that AI-generated voices count as “artificial” voices, which require prior consent for many calls.
- Carrier A2P 10DLC rules for business text messaging, and CAN-SPAM for email.
